ABOUT THE COURSE

This one hour lecture is intended to provide a brief overview of the topics that are presented in our Four 4-hour modules: female sexual function and dysfunction, vaginismus, vulvodynia, interstitial cystitis/painful bladder syndrome and endometriosis. The intended audience is health care practitioners that work with women or assigned female at birth patients with chronic pelvic pain and sexual pain disorders.

Course Objectives:

By the end of this lecture the participant will be able to:

  • Describe an overview of female sexual response

  • List at least 4 female sexual pain diagnoses and understand why they are associated with female sexual dysfunction

  • Identify at least 4 members of a multidisciplinary team to treat female sexual pain disorders

  • List at least 3 symptoms the classically present for vulvodynia, interstitial cystitis / Painful bladder syndrome, and endometriosis

Her documented success stories in treating vaginismus, incontinence, and other pelvic floor issues at her three Los Angeles area offices has drawn interest from around the globe. She ultimately decided to write the book in order to make her proven techniques readily available to all who need them. Heather received her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from Duke University and her BS in Animal Physiology and Neuroscience from UC San Diego.  She also received a Comprehensive Teacher Training Certification in Pilates from BASI and is a Certified Fascial Stretch Therapist through the Stretch to Win Institute.
