Dance Medicine

Julia earned her Doctorate of Physical Therapy (DPT) with honors from Columbia University, where she received the department awards for Excellence in Orthopedics, the Promising Future Alumni Award, and the Mary E. Callahan Award for leadership and skill in the profession. At Columbia, Julia received specialized training in orthopedics through their advanced track program. She also participated in research exploring exercise interventions of pregnancy-related pelvic girdle pain leading her into an interest in pelvic floor specialization. Julia’s career choice in physical therapy draws from a longstanding interest in holistic patient-centered health care from her personally designed undergraduate major from New York University (NYU), Culture and Philosophy of Healing, and techniques acquired through vocal training including Feldenkrais Method and Alexander Technique.
