ABOUT THE COURSE
This course will explore factors beyond the pelvic floor that contribute to stress urinary incontinence. While many of our patients are able to improve their pelvic floor problems with pelvic floor muscle strengthening, there are many factors beyond the pelvic floor strength that may contribute to improved outcomes. Most notably, we will discuss the latest research on the role of hip strengthening in regaining continence.
Course Objectives:
Learn the anatomy of the hip, pelvic floor, urethra, abdominal wall and their role in urinary continence.
Review the literature on hip strengthening and its effects on pelvic floor outcomes.
